Return to the Sacred Path

Enter through the narrow gate, because broad is the gate and spacious is the road that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it, because narrow is the gate and constricted is the road that leads to life, and there are few who find it!
~ Matthew 7:10, LEB ~

How far have you strayed from being the kind of Christian you desired to become? Are you overwhelmed by how far it may take for you to return back to the path of righteousness? A return back to faithfully living out sacred covenants? Perhaps you may see clearly for the first time how unfair life may have been. Maybe it is the first time you see clearly how unfair you may have been toward self and others. Perchance you see how pervasive natural compulsions were in one’s life and how much of the promised blessings you may have missed.

When we examine our past experience – have you solely relied on your own resources? sought out material success that placed you outside of the boundaries of our Heavenly Father’s commandments and sacred promises through covenant and righteous living? If so, what bitter harvest have you reaped for yourself?

A more significant question is this: Do you desire the abundance and success our Heavenly Father has consistently promised?

A successful mindful crucified Christian life is founded upon Jesus Christ, His teachings, and the promised blessings when living out those principle Gospel truths.

If one truly desires to change for the better, one must start on the inside and work their way out from there. True spiritual conversion and spiritual growth does not occur out there because it occurs deep within. Living a mindful crucified Christian life does not occur on shifting sands of personal circumstances. It begins in the quiet depths of our own hearts.

This is where one is most ready to do the necessary work of spiritual recovery and restoration. It is helpful at this time to remember that living a mindful and crucified Christian life is a personal journey. Although at times the distance seems quite overwhelming, all of us are on the path. As long as we live, we never reach a point of where we are able to stop growing spiritually. Maturing through faithful obedience to the teachings of Jesus Christ. Most important thing to remember is this: setting our course back on the narrow and constricted path of righteousness we have a good part of our journey behind us.

It does not matter one’s social status or profession. What matters is knowing each one of us are fellow travelers dealing with personal fears, anxieties, insecurities, and entrenched trauma. While society places emphasis on worldly and material things as a means to define success and personal status – Jesus Christ places greater emphasis on the true path of righteousness that leads to true life.

Once begun, we are progressing toward true spiritual growth and maturation in faith in Christ. Do not expect changing circumstances to miraculously transform you into the type of Christian you want to become. Instead, realize that real transformation begins with our Heavenly Father and gives root in a fertile heart of one that is humble and sincere. A process that occurs in the midst of pressure and heat where faith is developed until it displays the image and glory of Christ, transforming one into a vessel of honor that pleases our Heavenly Father.

Knowing this, and the love our Heavenly Father has for each of us helps us find encouragement, support, and even small victories in the coming days and months of a new year. Spiritual growth and maturation are not established upon the material and social status. Instead, they are established on experiencing true inner peace, strength, and hope as we come unto Christ and follow Him. It is the core essence of resilient faith as we progress toward living a mindful and crucified Christian life.

Therefore, this year is a season of new experiences and growth through the daily applications of spiritual truth and Gospel principles. A season of returning back to the path of sacred covenants founded upon faith in Jesus Christ. No matter the problems you may have experienced in the past – as overwhelming as they may have been – one is able to manage and overcome through application of the teachings of Jesus Christ. Applying these principles to our attitude and behavior every day. All one must do is give themselves permission to allow the influence and guidance of the Holy Spirit as a means to move toward living out the message of hope.

Today’s Thought and Spiritual Application

In the dark moments of your life, know that Heavenly Father – through the Holy Spirit – will constantly and consistently remind you how near He is. That it is through Christ you are empowered to overcome any challenge. It requires a steadfast mindful living of His love and power so that you are able to live out a courageous and faithful crucified life. And know that it is far better to remember the reward of spiritual growth and maturation while seeking the destination of eternal life.

A personal journey that you live one day at a time without confusion or despair. Knowing that Christ and our Heavenly Father has authority over your own life as you lean on Him. Being guided by the Holy Spirit each day as you bring every problem to Him; knowing you will be guided through the narrow gate and constricted path of sacred covenant and righteous living.
