Mindful Christianity is the spiritual discipline of consciously living a crucified life in Christ. Offering a way of denying self, picking up our cross, and truly following the Savior. (Matthew 16:24)
Every story of one who truly has come unto Christ to follow him begins with a place of humility and brokenness. A place where they were the most vulnerable. Or have you long forgotten your own spiritual birth? Forgotten that moment of time where you were brought down into a place of humility - seeking Christ in those moments of despair and need?
Our spiritual perception changes as a result of a deep enriching truth. Through our Heavenly Father's grace, we strive to work faithfully in cultivating a rich and meaningful life through Christ. Truth is won when we have the courage to feel the spiritual pain of being separate from the love of Christ, and that of our Heavenly Father. It is this hunger and thirst we strive to satisfy knowing that Christ is our Lord and Savior.
Spiritual growth is quite a risk that we want to avoid. It is this that causes stagnation in our belief and experiencing the promised blessings. The mindful and crucified Christian life that the good news and great joy offer is one of possibilities and options. This does not mean we will attain those personal desires and outcomes. What it means that we move from a life that is without any sense of meaning and purpose. A life that is without any sense of true joy and peace.
Whatever you are seeking in the New Year - what is seemingly impossible to you that may require faithful obedience to surrender unto Heavenly Father's will? How are you able to live a mindful and crucified Christian life where your response is that of Mary and living in a manner that is according to God's word?
