Humility helps us come to terms with ourselves, our relationships with others, and the direction our life has been going. It is this key that unlocks the possibilities and opportunities to shift our perspective in understanding and knowing what life is like when we place our lives over to the care of our Heavenly Father. Humility sets the foundation to cultivate faith whereby we have the confidence and assurance in God's promises and blessings afforded to us.
Wax Strong in the Lord
When I train myself to be disciplined in showing gratitude, the challenges and demands of daily life become quite bearable. I am not burdened down by the weight of those priorities. And it helps me maintain humility because I am not focused on what I have done - but I am focused on what Christ is able to do through me. The more I practice gratitude in everyday life - the more my Heavenly Father's kindness and generosity continues to strengthen me.
“…they offered him gifts …”
Genuine Christian faith is found when one comes to humbly worship Christ. To desire fellowship with Him. Seeking to understand the will of the Father and walking in obedience to His will. Not only will one find such faith in losing their life for Christ - but they shall also find saving faith for a life that is as precious as Gold. A life that is a sweet aroma as that of the being endowed with the Holy Spirit. And offering prayers that are contemplative and mindful in His name.
Of Humble Beginnings
Every story of one who truly has come unto Christ to follow him begins with a place of humility and brokenness. A place where they were the most vulnerable. Or have you long forgotten your own spiritual birth? Forgotten that moment of time where you were brought down into a place of humility - seeking Christ in those moments of despair and need?
“And Joseph … Did as the Angel of the Lord Commanded him …”
By turning our hearts and minds - our life and will over to the care of our Heavenly Father, there is greater contentment, peace, and joy the world is not capable of offering. Like Joseph - we come unto Christ and follow Him as a fulfillment of the Father's commandment. For when we turn our thoughts and hearts toward God, to His promised blessings, we begin to experience the peace and joy Christ offers. It is only when we continue to disobey the teachings and principles of the Gospel, we continue to experience misery and suffering.
10 Guiding Premises of Living a Mindful and Crucified Christian Life
Christian mindfulness is coming to a place where we attach our deepest sense of self to God and seek after His kingdom and righteousness (see, Matthew 6:33, ESV). This requires us to surrender ourselves over to His divine will and grace. By being mindful, we are present focused on the moment and experiencing that moment without any prejudice or criticism. Adding to this, we are present focused on God's will and desire within those moments as we experience them without any criticism or prejudice on our part. Since we are called to seek after God and desire to do His will, we are establishing ourselves as citizens of His kingdom.
